Bond Foundation Supports 2016 Summer Sailing Program

On March 22, 2016, the Bond Foundation awarded International Youth Sailing of Oshkosh (IYSO) a $5,000 grant. IYSO is a nonprofit group of sailing enthusiasts focused on enriching the lives of children in Northeastern Wisconsin by introducing them to the life lessons that sailing offers. Since 2008 IYSO has become the largest school sailing program in North America. Last year they served over 2,300 public and private school students from all over Northeastern Wisconsin. Sailing helps empower kids and enrich their lives by teaching the real world practical skills of basic sailing and providing opportunities that challenge, build character and enhance personal growth.

The grant from the Bond Foundation helped provide a 2016 summer sailing program for school aged children at the Oconto Breakwater Park. The Foundation feels this program not only provides a fun activity for children of all ages, but also helps expose children to a sport they may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn.
